Electrical Distribution
News: Electrical DistributionSchneider Electric, partner in Princess Elisabeth Research Station
This polar station is the first "zero-emissions" research station in the world. The Group, a principal partner of the station, is supplying all of the electrical distribution and management systems for the building, which will be operational for the Antarctic season beginning in November 2008. This is the second time that Schneider Electric has been associated with the International Polar Foundation (IPF), which since the beginning of 2007 has been taking part in its private "Salon Initiatives" events that mirror the Group's commitment to energy efficiency. More than ever, Schneider Electric is directing its efforts to ensure that it is its customers' key partner when it comes to energy efficiency. The Group's purchasing policy, research and development process and marketing effort are today broadly developed with this objective in mind. This approach is applied more specifically to its customers, who as part of the Kyoto accords must reduce their CO2 emissions. This is consistent with the Group's other areas of responsibility, in particular its commitments to reduce energy consumption on its own sites and also to promote access to energy for all via its Foundation.
