Go Green in Malaysia
Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, is launching its 3rd annual University Challenge in Malaysia on 1st October 2011.
Schneider Electric’s University Challenge is a competition designed to inspire engineering students at government and privately funded universities in Malaysia by challenging them to develop creative and innovative proposals that solve practical energy usage problems. This year’s theme, “Go Green In Malaysia,” tasks students with finding energy-efficient solutions that can be implment in Malaysia's commercial or industry market.
Beginning on October 1st, this exciting learning opportunity is open to all full time undergraduates doing 3rd or 4th year Bachelor’s degree in engineering at Malaysia's higher institution. Contestants will be trained on Schneider Electric’s Energy Efficiency solutions and most importantly, gain exposure to real-life scenarios. Attractive prizes await the winning teams, as the top three will receive bursaries valued at RM15,000, RM10,000 and RM5,000 respectively, plus trophies and Certificates of Honour.
To participate, form a team of 3 members and register online at www.schneider-electric.com.my by October 28th 2011. Submit a complete proposal on solving energy usage problem in Malaysia's commercial or industry market within 15 days after roadshow at your campus. I.e. If campus "A" 's roadshow dates is 5th October, then the proposal submission deadline is before 20th October 2011. No expenses are required for the students or the universities, just their desire to work collaboratively to submit ideas on achieving energy efficiency.
The 6 teams whose proposals are considered "best" by the standards of the panel will progress to Final Round. Tentative Final Demonstration unit and Stage Presentation will be on 9th Feb 2012, follow by winner annoucement and prize giving ceremony.
